Edinburgh Full-Day Walking Tour - Tickets Included

Our Edinburgh Full-Day Walking Tour – Castle Tickets Included provides a 360 degree overview of Edinburgh.

We will meet at 2-4 Hope Street, next to Johnnie Walker. Our first stop will be the Dean Village, a charming area of Edinburgh with an intriguing medieval past. Once the bakers’ hub, the Dean Village still retains some mill stones and stone plaques decorated with baked bread and pies. The Well Court is where the mill workers were housed, and this is today the most picturesque building of the village.

We will continue towards the New Town, where we will admire elegant examples of neoclassical architecture, and the most iconic mansion of all: The Georgian House. Once inside, you will be transported back in time. The beautifully decorated interiors and the lavish furniture will offer an insight into what high society life was like in 18th and 19th century Edinburgh. Are you ready to live the perfect Bridgerton-like experience?

In the Scottish National Gallery we’ll discover the artworks of some of Scotland’s most famous artists including Sir Henry Raeburn, Alexander Nasmyth, and the Glasgow Boys and Girls, as well as internationally renowned works such as Velázquez’s An Old Woman Cooking Eggs.

Leaving the New Town behind us, we will cross over to the Old Town. Strolling along its medieval cobbled lanes, we will discover the most important sites, including the Royal Mile, Greyfriars Graveyard and the statue of Bobby the dog; Grassmarket and the colourful Victoria Street. We’ll learn about the peculiar architecture of the Old Town, key historical moments such as the Protestant Reformation, witch-hunts, and executions. We will also look at Edinburgh’s cultural scene, from books and writers to the festivals that the city hosts throughout the year.

Our tour will end at Edinburgh Castle, where we’ll delve into the history and secrets of the buildings, and recall the fascinating stories of kings, queens, battles and sieges. After the guided tour of the castle, there will be time for you to keep exploring the site at your own pace.
